How do I connect and configure the AMX5000?

1. Using the null modem cable that shipped with the AMX5000, connect a terminal or PC running terminal emulation software (such as HyperTerminal) to the terminal port on the front panel. The terminal should be configured to 9600 baud, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, and no flow control.

2. When the switch is powered on, the Power indicator on the front of the unit will blink for approximately 30 seconds while performing a self-test. Approximately 10 seconds after it stops blinking, press the key to access the main menu.

3. From the Main Menu, select Option 1: Network Configuration.

4. From the Network Configuration, select Option 1: IP Address. Configure the IP Address.

5. Select options 2 and 3 to set your netmask and default gateway respectively.

6. Once these settings are input, enter a 0 to return to the main menu.

Note: The system does not need to be rebooted for settings to take affect.
